Day-by-Day Itinerary – Machame 7 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi / Arusha

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha. Transfer to Moshi hotel. Meet guides and porters, review trekking gear, attend orientation, overnight hotel stay.

Day 2: Machame Gate → Machame Camp (Approx. 11 km, 5–6 hours)

Start trek through rainforest with rich biodiversity. Ascend gradually to Machame Camp. Overnight camping, rest and hydrate.

Day 3: Machame Camp → Shira Camp (Approx. 5–7 km, 4–5 hours)

Climb through moorland and Shira Plateau. Witness giant heathers and lava fields. Optional acclimatization walks around Shira Camp. Overnight camping.

Day 4: Shira Camp → Barranco Camp (Approx. 10 km, 5–6 hours)

Traverse alpine desert and rocky paths to Barranco Camp. Optional acclimatization hikes and photo stops. Camp overnight.

Day 5: Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp (Approx. 5 km, 3–4 hours)

Day 6: Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp → Summit → Mweka Camp (Approx. 12–14 km, 12–14 hours)

Day 7: Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate → Departure (Approx. 10–12 km, 4–6 hours)
